Liverpool fan
A great history for this Portuguese side
When I went on holiday to Lisbon I found that this stadium had a very rich history. When I visted the stadium I could imagine that if you were a SL Benfica fan the match day atmosphere would be electric. I loved the fact that Benfica included small detail’s such as there star past and present player walls with the likes of Eusebio and many more. They also made the decision to include the past score lines of the UCL finals from there glory days many years ago which I thought was a nice touch. My favourite thing was the fact that they had alive eagles on the touchline which in my opinion was a very smart way to add a mascot. They claimed that the eagles flew around on match days which is true because there is a YouTube video of it. Overall I personally do agree that Benfica’s Estadio de Luz is one of the best stadiums in mainland Europe for history and on a Champions league can be up there with the best for the fans. If you are in Southern Portugal give this venue a visit!
