It’s really big but there is no atmosphere

Not a football stadium
I have not missed a game at this stadium in 5 seasons in all competitions (PL, Championship, Conf. League, Europa League, EFL Cup, FA Cup). I sit in one of the best seats in the stadium and obviously a big West Ham fan so this might be biased. First, the actual stadium is not a football stadium which has been established by many visitors. The stands are a fair distance from the sidelines due to the olympic running track around the perimeter. To be fair, the seats have been moved forward and covered a part of the track. The view is absolutely horrendous from the upper rows as the players look like ants kicking around dust. Where I usually sit, the view is much better than most places for views. Secondly is the atmosphere. The atmosphere is famously quiet and silent in the London Stadium due to how it is built. Per game, a few chants echo around the stadium and bubbles is usually very loud with a full attendance. The Bobby Moore Lower is perfect for atmosphere and singing as about 30 chants come per match which compared to teams like Portsmouth, Stockport and Plymouth sounds pathetic but is decent to what you might've heard. Thirdly, the prices. Beers, drinks and food are all extortionate for what they are. Happy hour ends 45 minutes before kick off which only affects cold beers. The average price for a sprite, coke or fanta is £5.20, which compared to a corner shop is ridiculous. Meanwhile, the beers are £7.20 and in happy hour £4.90 (which compared to most stadiums is unacceptable). Lastly, the actual team. West Ham are an interesting side to sit and watch for 90 minutes. When we played in the Premier League, we would lose more than win. 0 - 6, 0 - 5, 1 - 5 and many more have been seen at the London Stadium. Currently, we have beaten Wrexham 6 - 0 in the Championship and are winning most of the games. A lot of people come to see Jarrod Bowen and not much else. He is a great player with lots of positives but has his negatives as every player does. Soucek, Kanté, Taty, Hermanssen and Solomon are all very good players alongside many others. Overall, it is a decent view (depending on where you sit), not a great atmosphere, extortionate prices and an iffy result. COYI ⚒️

Not what I expected
Extremely quite I was shocked silent through out the game the loudest it got was when Creswell and Coufal got clapped off embarrassing for such a famous club seen as a fantastic loud fanbase wouldn’t go again

West Ham's London Stadium: the epitome of a soulless football venue. Originally designed for athletics, it’s as if football was an afterthought, and it shows. The vast, open layout leaves fans feeling disconnected from the action, creating an atmosphere that's flatter than a pancake. The crowd? A sea of tourists mingling with frustrated locals, struggling to ignite any real sense of passion. The famous East End grit feels lost in this cavernous, sterile setting. Combine that with eye-watering food and drink prices, and you’ve got a matchday experience that’s heavy on the wallet and light on the heart. And then there's the football itself—unfortunately, the team rarely delivers performances to distract you from the stadium’s shortcomings. Overall, it’s an experience that leaves you longing for a proper football ground with a real sense of identity. A missed opportunity, sadly.
