Parked in an official car park to then find out I had to work through Moss Side, took 20 minutes to get to the ground, fantastic old stadium, fantastic atmosphere, we drew 0-0, had to work back to the car park..Quality day

Fantastic memories, but…
Even as a City fan I can’t in all honesty give Maine Road five stars, even though I loved it. By the end, it wasn’t a coherent stadium, just four different stands; the infamous bottleneck was a nightmare; and the atmosphere after a match could be distinctly nasty. Some wonderful memories, though.

Nice ground in a rough area
Very traditional ground on the rough tough moss side Council Estate, city fans are usually very welcoming, but on 1 occasion it turned nasty, Eric Nixon the then city keeper got sent off, Palace won 3 1 and it turned very nasty indeed it was a relief to jump on a bus and the mayhem around us apart from that I usually enjoyed my visits
